Kajaki - 7/10

Thought this was going to be one of those simple war movies with explosions and stuff but instead it's this sickening thing about a squad of dudes who wander into a minefield and proceed to have a very bad day indeed.

Jesus, the screaming and the horror - it's all done quite well for what's clearly not a very high budget movie i thought, but it's not exactly a fun lighthearted watch. Almost turned it off at one point to be honest...

Went and saw Jurassic World mid morning today as nice and quiet in the cinema.
Pretty good I thought. Maybe I had lower expectations. It was entertaining and worth your time.

Pulp Fiction (1994)

I finally got to watch this movie last night. Have you seen it?
Storyline

Jules Winnfield and Vincent Vega are two hitmen who are out to retrieve a suitcase stolen from their employer, mob boss Marsellus Wallace. Wallace has also asked Vincent to take his wife Mia out a few days later when Wallace himself will be out of town. Butch Coolidge is an aging boxer who is paid by Wallace to lose his next fight. The lives of these seemingly unrelated people are woven together comprising of a series of funny, bizarre and uncalled-for incidents
IMDB

An interesting read about the the non-linear narrative here.
Confusing, annoying or pointless, I don't know but it captivated me for the length of this movie.

The cameo appearance by the Quentin Tarantino had me reading his biography which is rare and adds points.

Interested to read also it was judged the greatest film of the past 25 years (1983-2008) by Entertainment Weekly.

Just maybe a cult classic and must see in your lifetime.

Though it seemed to me like it doesn't really know what type of flick it wants to be. It's pretty brutal in parts, then again childish comedy, sort of coming of age, and S.L. Jackson in one really weird role.
6/10.

Ryoki, how does that story play out? Is it like a confined drama out in the desert? Sounds interesting.

Kingsman was rather good, it was like a serious spoof. Completely unexpected and well worth a watch.

Of Jurassic World - people are getting really upset about the Pakisaurus....

England versions say "Get the Paki's back into their cage" or some shit like that.

Fuck you world, you bunch of insufferable wankers. Not everything is designed racist - stop trying to find racism in every little thing because you feel the right to be upset. Cunts.

How can it be pointless if it kept you captivated? Maybe you should not rely on clickbait articles to form an oppinion on movies.

Pretty much a confined drama in a minefield, yeah.

chappie 7.5/10
yeah i can see how it can be seen as a complete failure for those who were looking for something more, since it didn't really try to carry all the weight of this subject matter on its showlders, but if you overlook that; it was a good isolated story about how a situation like that could play out given the circumstances.

...also, I like this director's style so...

I will rephrase as it may sound like my opinion where that was not intended.

Some might say the non-linear narrative is confusing, annoying or pointless. I don't know but it captivated me for the length of this movie.

Oh and Pext, I watched the movie and had the captivated opinion before I read the article. I was a little taken a back with the timeline changing then I worked out where it was going. If you have seen it, I would guess you too were confused when
Vincent (John Travolta) is killed by Butch (Bruce Willis) by a silenced Uzi then reappears later in the movie
I was not familiar with the term 'clickbait' :smirk:

Edit: Smelling

Kelly's Heroes (1970)

You must have seen it by now and I was very surprised it was made as long ago as 1970, that's near 45 years ago.

Stars Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas, Donald Sutherland, Gavin MacLeod and many others you may recognize..

Nice to see it again as I've not seen it in years.
All I can say is it's a classic, so get a chance, you simply must see it.

IMDB

Thanks Mat Linnett. I worked it out twice in my head and that's sad.
