i think in the old days b4 vinyl they used a brittle material and a heavier pressure stylus so if it chipped out a piece it would repeat a groove.

Still haven't gotten the update notification on either my win7 or win8 laptops. Not that I mind, they are both in perfect working order so I'm in no rush.

Don't think it applies to OEM versions ?

Missing some stupid update probably. I ended up having to reformat to get the pop for it. For windows update a dozen times. If that still fails, Fuck it, Format and go fresh.

I'm happy. Runs great. A++ Would download again.

I did get the notification telling me I can subscribe for the Windows 10 update but I still haven't gotten a notification that I can actually install the update.

I got the install all right was going to ask how you get updates for Windows 10, from reading previous answers doesn't look like the question can be answered. I see no way to update Windows 10, the reason for the question if anyone knows how bout giving the old guy a clue, thanks

Its automatic.
You don't have a choice. Eventually, Windows will just reboot your shit and install critical updates. Optional semi important updates just bug you until you click "ok do this at this time"

In your tray, that message icon will turn white. Click it.

Other than that. dunno. 10 has just kind of took care of itself since I've installed it. A++ Would install again.

I still don't have a notification update on myW7 laptop  On my desktop PC I get the notification every couple of days but as yet, have not taken the leap of faith.

Just asking as the laptop is an ASUS and yes, it has all their bloatware in their W7 install that I have never cleaned up: The free W10 is for all installs even the likes of this, Dell and the like isn't it?

I still haven't gotten an update notification on my PC, either. It's all the same, stupid work requires me to use software that doesn't work in 10, because reasons.

Both my laptops are now on Win10 so sit tight, the notification will come.
You can also download the installation files from MS' website.

Still nothing on the laptop. I click the icon and it still says "We're validating..... "

With my new PC build and W10 install I registered at the forums and read how to download the ISO's and with a legitimate key do a clean install. Me thinks I'll be going that way instead of an upgrade on that laptop.
