. There's only about 500 people on the exchange and I only went for Infinity 1 - though according to the router it could easily max infinity 2 which was tempting.
Openreach messed up my installation though so I got BT to waive the fee. Bonus.

TPG with an average speed of 3.36mbps was the fastest Australian internet provider. Second was Optus with 3.27 followed by iinet with 3.24. Last on the list of seven companies measured was Telstra with an average speed of 2.23mbps. - See more at: http://www.skynews.com.au/business/tech ... WEs9P.dpuf

Re: internet speed?...
Hmm that doesn't seem right. You probably have grounds to force an investigation by Openreach if it's 50% of your quoted speed - I can't remember what the exact cut-off is for that. Usually their estimated speed checker errors on the side of caution as well. Assuming you have the homehub if you login to the router then go to Troubleshooting > Helpdesk what do you get?seremtan wrote:i'm on infinity 2. their online line test widget quoted me 35-50 down

Re: internet speed?...
Strange how Time Warner's "ultimate" package is only 50Mbps yet you're getting ~350Mbps.

Re: internet speed?...

Re: internet speed?...

Xfinity (Comcast)... not bad, but we get hellacious lags sometimes before connecting to sites... probably due to getting routed through NSA servers so the government can track us

It's most probably your DNS servers. Switch to using Google and/or OpenDNS's ones:surgeon62 wrote:

Also try unchecking "automatically detect settings" in Internet explorer > internet options > connections > LAN. Even if you use Chrome it uses this under the hood I believe. Having that on always causes me problems.
Re: internet speed?...
Suddenlink now has 1Gb service here. Suck on that goof...No mention of Austin anywhere on their list either. I'll have it very soon. Enjoy the slow lane.
Re: internet speed?...
I used to have suddenlink and it was shit. So I'll have to see it to believe it...
