Does Steam want us to pay $10 to play Quake Live?

Am I missing something or does Steam now want us to pay $10 to play Quake Live (after we already bought Q3)??? OR is there a free option I'm missing. The QL Launcher app has been disabled. :down: :down: :down: :down: :down:
