DisplayPort 1.3 will allow 3440x1440 @ 144hz with adaptive sync, you can get one of those this summer along with Pascal or Polaris.

I'm currently using a 32" 1080p Samsung 60Hz Monitor/TV. However, this looks interesting. I'm also due for a new monitor, so I might pick it up.
