screen too dark

lo all
just reformatted my HD, re-installed all drivers and when launching Q3 it all looks far too dark in full screen, when full screen off all is ok. any hints pls cheers

mmmh I actually rebooted my pc and now all I get is the white screen of death

/r_gamma 1.3

Delete your q3config.cfg if Q3A keeps hanging.

I'd try something more like r_intensity "1.3"

deafult is 1.0 not 1.1 actually.
