Also heard the same complaints from some friend who have been there.

Really? That was the most amusing thing? Must have been a terrible trip...

Yeah, it's the Manta 36. I also have the Farpoint 40, but it's not a hydration pack. Plus, more room = more junk, and I need to stay as light as possible...

Hey no problems. When your underpants get dirty, just turn 'em inside-out. And then backwards after that, and inside out again. 4 times the longevity

Oh yeah of course, enjoy the trip. Go spot some Condors. I hear it's mighty impressive to see them birds soar through the sky.

My SO spent three months on a dig in Cusco and ended up getting giardia from an ice cube. Great way to lose 30 pounds...

I'm back! Well, I'm in smelly Florida, waiting on my next flight home. Peru was fucking awesome! The jungle was probably my favorite part of the trip. There is sooooo much life in the rainforest. Every day we'd hit the canoe and just take off down the Amazon. Every time you turned your head there's a different species of bird. We saw (and held) boa constrictor, sloth, monkeys, tarantula, poisonous jungle frog, caiman, and all kinds of other animals and insects. Also got to catch and eat piranha, and swam in the river with the same fish. :D

The Inca Trail was brutal. Easily the most difficult (physically) thing I've ever done. It wouldn't have been that bad if it wasn't for the altitude. But it was completely worth it. The views of the Andes are amazing. And when you finally reach Machu Picchu, breathtaking. We arrived at sunrise, before the rush of bused in tourists. I'll posts some pics in a bit.

Lima was just ok. Not my favorite city. Good food though...
