And a lot of the examples in that video didn't even support Sargon's point; I recognize the article screencaps and I've read some of them, they actually say the opposite of what he thinks. Not to mention that for every screencap that was provided, there are 5 more articles with headlines and content that don't support Sargon's argument. The only shit storm it seems to have caused is in your pants.

It actually turns out that some (can't say all in honesty, but some) threats were staged. Sarkeesian dug out supposed abuse and threats that had nothing to even do with GG. Quinn fake doxxed herself, whilst getting payments from other feminists that were brigading all over the place on her behalf. Shit, read the tweets in the vid. Some of them aren't even threats. 'I hope you die soon', whilst aye, quite nasty, is not a threat at all. Not least a fucking death threat. These people are carrot-crunching loony fucking tunes!

If your "I hope you die soon" example of a non-death threat is referring to the first 20 seconds of the video, then you chose to ignore the tweet directly underneath it in the video that says "I hope you enjoy your last moments on this earth". I can cherry-pick my examples to make a point, too.

way to miss my point completely. the quote was "recognise you're still racist" - that is to say it's being claimed (by whoever compiled that infographic) that 'being racist' is cashed out as an 'objective' property, i.e. something you don't choose, nor can you choose to renounce. if one accepts this, then certain strange beliefs logically follow on from it, such as:

1) there can never be an end to racism (a pretty pessimistic conclusion). racism is now raised to the level of a metaphysical truth, beyond political action or social change; and

2) that a certain class of people (white people in this instance, but it could be anyone) are to some extent defined by the colour of their skin - a disturbing conclusion to draw for someone claiming to be 'against racism' since it effectively re-creates the foundational logic of racism (but disguises this by switching the roles); and lastly

3) unless the speaker is merely advocating an entirely inner-directed (and hence invisible) "recognition", some kind of 'public performance' of this "recognition" is required, and this 'performance' must be ongoing and unending, given the metaphysical nature of racism. the 'original sin' can never be expunged, and redemption is impossible. this brings to my mind such things as Calvinism or der ewige Jude, not to mention cultural practices that involving 'marking' criminals in some way, like cutting off the hands of thieves, or branding in a publicly visible way - pretty disturbing associations

Affirmative action can be problematic. I have difficulty in seeing it as a simple case of picking so many of each 'type' of people (retches a bit) and stacking boardrooms with bodies, marginalised by colour, like it's some quite dodgy game of Connect 4.
