I immediately wonder though; snapmap was a way for ID software to make level editing simple enough for anyone to create custom content for the game. How will they deal with that here? The biggest strength with Quake was the community's ability to create maps, models and mods. That will be severely limited here I'm afraid.
We haven't seen serious modding since Doom 3 either so will Rocket Arena Champions be a thing anyway?

have you seen the SnapMap MOBA?
SnapMap is not a leveleditor, it's a mod creation kit. With the latest update even more so.
omg yes! give me the quake 3 glory days back. I don't want to think about strategy, or team comps, I just want to walk into a room and wreck shit through sheer skill, instinct and out-maneuvering noobs.
The only thing I'm still concerned about is the skill based characters. Hopefully there'll be a game mode that evens the playing field, to give it that old school Quake feel...
