Don't make me post a picture of my heavenly body so that I smash your feelings and crush your emotions for good, son.
for me, motivation is the most important aspect of lifting. i don't have it. maybe if i was a little under or over weight i'd be more inclined to work towards a better body. as of now i'm pretty content. you're probably right though.[xeno]Julios wrote:kewl - you could probably reach 160 within a year if you organize your nutrition and training for that purpose. Might be less or more depending on your genetics.

careful duhard...any larger of a boner for me and you'll find yourself completely devoid of feelings for the opposite sex. or is it too late already :icon19:Duhard wrote:...you wish you fucking pissant :lol:seza wrote:did my picture invoke some jealousy michael J? :icon19:Duhard wrote: BWAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAAAAAAAA!!!!

and go ahead and post your picture from 5 years ago michael j...nobody cares
You are a little under weight (not meant to be an insult). You have a classic ectomorphic build, which means you aren't going to have to worry about putting on excessive amounts of fat.seza wrote:for me, motivation is the most important aspect of lifting. i don't have it. maybe if i was a little under or over weight i'd be more inclined to work towards a better body. as of now i'm pretty content. you're probably right though.[xeno]Julios wrote:kewl - you could probably reach 160 within a year if you organize your nutrition and training for that purpose. A simple 3 or 4 day a week program centered around a lot of calories and heavy, basic lifts would probably put 10-15 lbs on you in 4-5 months easy.
Jules will advise HIT. He seems pretty pleased with the results thus far, but I still respectfully encourage him to modify his training (unless his poundages on some lifts have changed since I last talked with him about it..).
Jules, I am curious as to the poundages you are at right now. I really think you have the base now to move towards some old fashioned strength training routines to build more upper body strength. Again, not meant at all to be an insult to HIT...
You call that lifting?seza wrote:for me, motivation is the most important aspect of lifting. i don't have it. maybe if i was a little under or over weight i'd be more inclined to work towards a better body. as of now i'm pretty content. you're probably right though.[xeno]Julios wrote:kewl - you could probably reach 160 within a year if you organize your nutrition and training for that purpose. Sorry dumbo but lifting sticks and chairs ain't called lifting..it's called nerding, weakling.

you're right actually. i'm an ectomorph with the highest metabolism on the planet..it seems anyway. the only way i would ever be able to make gains of 10+ lbs of muscle is if i were to stop cardio excercises. i've already stopped running/biking in hopes of maintaining a heavier frame and decreasing excess caloric burn. kayaking is the last excercise..and right now it's more important to me than gaining more weight or working out seriously. the amount of calaries i burn when paddling 4 hours or more adds up to be more than i intake in a day.. so i'll naturally stay semi-skinny but very toned.tnf wrote:You are a little under weight (not meant to be an insult). if i were to dedicate myself to training i would probably want to try a hybrid of HIT and some kind of 5x5 training.
Oh, yea, forgot imm0rality and sys.. you all win.
Never did ask how strong imm0rality was back in his heyday. I know sys has gotten much, much stronger.
I had some biomechanical advantages in the way my muscles inserted. My biceps were short, which gave me good leverage for curls...I would get a lot of stares in the gym from guys with arms 2 inches bigger than mine curling less than me. Same with my flat bench dumbell presses and incline presses. Was blessed with good genetics in the strength department, but bad genetics in the ability to put on a lot of mass without fucking up my kidneys department. heh.

I forget again, how did you fuck up your kidneys? Was it too much protein? My brother got huge off of lifting and whey protein, but he put a lot of stress on his kidneys and is having to deal with shit now. This year, I put on almost 20 lbs of muscle without taking any protein, but I'm pretty curious about what gains I could make with supplements... just don't want to fuck my system up (or take anything restricted, I wouldn't be able to fight or compete because of screenings)tnf wrote:Oh, yea, forgot imm0rality and sys.. you all win.

Chronic kidney stones...partly due to a genetic thing. The amount of protein I took in while training hard really accelerated the problem.feedback wrote:I forget again, how did you fuck up your kidneys? Was it too much protein? I think you're right - HIT is great for me since it only requires an hour a week in the gym, but i'm not progressing with the poundages. Been stuck at these weights for months on end. I'm thinking of upping the volume, but gdamn that means more caloriestnf wrote:Jules will advise HIT. I've started adding more warmup sets to my routine recently, and i like the way it makes my muscles feel.
any suggestions on routines I could try? HST seems pretty good, but it's pretty high volume. Ever hear of doggcrapp training method?
