Nah, they're doing the smear thing because they're going for the jugular (ie the house and senate are now in play). It's not just about Clinton winning the presidency anymore, this might very well be the end of a political party.

also whoever wins this will be replacing midterm a bunch of 80 year olds on the supreme court. They seem to be campaigning hard for this so they lock in their people on these positions.
