Apple's new $300 book

Yes, book. No, not Notebook or iBook, their book, as in paper thing with pages you can read. Except, this one you can't actually read, as it only contains 450 pictures of Apple products. It comes in two versions: a small one, starting at $199 and a large one, starting at $299. "Starting at"? Yes, apparently, whatever that may mean. Some heavily patented form of analog DLC I guess?

It's called " Designed by Apple in California". I bet next year they'll release "Designed by Apple in California S" which is 10% lighter and contains 5% more pictures :rolleyes:

Getting back on topic...

I bought AppleDesign: The work of the Apple Industrial Design Group in 1999, and it was a very interesting read as well as visual record.

In contrast to this... the price is ridiculous and I don't even see any words on the pages.

AppleDesign is about design choices made, principles followed and the application thereof. Interesting stuff.

I've recently been listening to Steve Jobs autobiography. Never really knew much about him before but I do find Apple very interesting now. Not sure I'd spent $300 on a book though it does look very well crafted

a well-crafted book is a unique work, like a hand-copied Bible or Quran, or William Blake's original hand-painted etchings
