Well for now I'm managing brands related to PC gaming, which means I might have to build another rig at some point

I wish. Most of these manufactures are selling kit which makes anything from 3 - 9% margin once it's been through the channel. Pretty much all cards are 3% margin apart from PNY and their professional computation cards.
So if i go ahead it'll be a cost price rig but i should be able to get a great spec and high quality parts for well under £1k.
