Obama has surfed on the whole 'first black president' thing since minute one, but had his record been that of a white president people wouldn't be rating him so highly. he was a drone warrior and neoliberal fanboy who successfully concealed his true self behind a fog of therapeutic smoke and was unable to connect with a massive chunk of blue collar America (hence the Drumpf backlash)

He was kind of good but also kind of terrible. Warrentless wiretapping, and not really pushing for many leftist policies that the country really needs. You can't rebrand Nixon's healthcare policy as the ACA, and then sit idly by as the Republican liars tell everyone it's socialist. What the fuck is that?
