Re: Overwatch
After having suspicions of lag compensation causing funky shit to go down in games with hitscan heroes, I decided to actually test it out; I've been playing on the EU region for the past couple days with just widowmaker and have enjoyed a significant jump in hit registration and apparent accuracy. Headshots are registering consistently (but delayed, obviously) and I haven't seen a single bullet trace go through a hero model and not count as a hit. Oddly, there have been way too many times on NA servers with 30 ping where shots I swore should have hit just don't count but performance with 180-200 ping has seen a massive improvement.
Sadly I don't speak Russian and I've only been in a small handful of games where the people on my team spoke English.

Interesting tidbit: the photo is credited to Efi.
Also, would be cool if they updated the Numbani map to reflect the damage done in this attack.

Re: Overwatch
Wasn't expecting a new character this soon. If she comes out with the Bastion patch around the corner, that will be pretty sweet.

Re: Overwatch
wouldn't the new character be on the ptr already if it was close to release?
Re: Overwatch
Ana was only on the PTR for a week.

Re: Overwatch
I guess what people mean with release is that it is playable, which indeed would initially be on the PTR

Jeff Kaplan can say what he wants, but Doomfist is going to be a thing now. Maybe as a simultaneous release with another hero.

This is PTR only by the way
Re: Overwatch
Why are we still pushing this payload though?

Re: Overwatch
Aww poor Pharah, hilarious vid tho, thanks.
The Tobelstein reactor sounds like it could be a reference to the technology used by Zarya's weapon. Perhaps Efi's robot will have similar energy or EMP type weapons or skills?

Re: Overwatch
it's all just so yummy.
the quality of every little detail is just astonishing. I read the other day that they spend about 4 days on a highlight intro and that really shows. fyi these little vignettes run for about 4 seconds

Re: Overwatch
I saw something on the news about Horizon Zero Dawn (due to it being developed by Guerilla Games, a Dutch company) and in that segment, one of the interviewed animators said he'd spend about a day on a second of animation for that game, so yeah that sounds about right.
