The last movie you saw
Re: The last movie you saw
Yeah, was alright. I still think the first one is the best out of the three.
Despicable Me 3 was excellent though. Easily the best of the three imo.

I like the 1st, both my lads were obsessed with it for a year. I thought the 3rd was good with a solid story.

Re: The last movie you saw
Many films.....
Magnolia - WTF/10 - Not even sure what to say...really.
Superman vs Batman - 4/10 - Fuck sake. This had so much potential but instead of thinking about how good this could have been I am thinking about the "adverts" they put in the middle of the film. Go visit Marvel and see how its done.
Suicide Squad - 2/10 - Sweet Jesus :/
The Godfather - 9/10 - still as awesome as the day I watched for the first time it some 18 years ago
Bridge of Spies - 6/10 - enjoyable film to be fair. Hanks was as easy to watch as ever
Zodiac - 6/10 - solid film. You can see RDJ sort of getting into the part for Iron Man during this.
Oceans 13 - 5/10 - the weakest of the lot....I wonder what Oceans 8 will hold
Loads more old ones that I dare say you don't care about
Many more but I can't remember them off the top of my head

Eleven is brilliant

Re: The last movie you saw
Indeed. The other two are terrible, with 12 leading the pack.
Re: The last movie you saw
Is 12 the one where Julia Roberts pretends to be... well... Julia Roberts?

Re: The last movie you saw
Yeah. That was weak.
Re: The last movie you saw
Wasn't the ending the same in 12 and 13? Something about Matt Damon's mom and dad being ex machinas respectively. Shit.
Re: The last movie you saw
Get Out - It was excellent. Thanks.

Re: The last movie you saw
With the soon to be released new movie, War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) I sat down last night to watch through these two movies, Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) so as to 'catch up'
I probably would have entered a score here before
so there is no need now but I will say, both were enjoyable.. Watch 'em before seeing the new one as I did

"oh... a strange alien life-form. How neat. Well, let's touch it."
Both have the same problem, both sucked. Franchise bonus to A:C in telling a longer story.
Re: The last movie you saw
Characters in alien movies have always been retarded, nothing new there.
Re: The last movie you saw
the Alien franchise is the new Highlander franchise, only with two decent outings instead of one
Re: The last movie you saw
I should watch the whole franchise with a Retard-Meter once it's done. True that. Why though does Aliens stil rank so high with me? About an 8. Totally retarded military style personel thrown at the problem? It can't get more retard-points, I guess.Captain Mazda wrote:Characters in alien movies have always been retarded, nothing new there.

Kong: Skull Island
I'd give it an 7.5 out of 10.
VFX don't let it down and look great in places. The creature design is pretty good, you can tell they had fun. The action is decent and it's not a constant slideshow of flashy lights and bullshit going off for a change.
Also, Vietnam aesthetic

I liked it too, but my god was the acting bad. Samuel L. Jackson, the US soldiers, and the two ethnic "scientists" were fucking awful to listen to.

I didn't mind Samuel L Jackson or the soldiers but those scientists might as well have had TOKEN written on their forehead, I couldn't quite work out if their entire presence was supposed to be ironic.
