Comcast (one of the largest internet service providers) says they will not throttle legal content. So if AT&T decides they are going to throttle specific content, everyone moves to Comcast. Repealing net neutrality sounds like a bad deal all around. But all you need is on detractor like Comcast and suddenly repealing net neutrality doesn't mean a thing.

May be the push we need for a true global ad-hoc wifi mesh network. As far as I'm concerned the internet has been dying for years.

Hahahahahahahaha

I "work" for a telecom currently that says the same thing. You can bet your ass we'll be shaping traffic the second we can. Telecoms are fucking evil man. If Comcast sticks to it, as well as the others who say the same blind shit. Great. But $$$$$$$$$ man.

What a joke.

I wonder how many ISP choices he has, wherever he lives. If one of them dicks him around, can he shop around for another provider?

Grow up.

Cherry picking? Don't flatter yourself. That post was shown to be bullshit in its entirety, not just parts of it

From the NYT article comments...
In truth, I don't really understand everything that is happening here. I remember sitting in the 5th grade, in P.S. 105, and a man coming in asking us to vote on Pay TV. We took a survey. Of course we thought it was ludicrous at the time to pay for these shows since we had to sit through commercials ( I heard my parents rant about it). They said if we paid, there wouldn't be any commercials; they lied. They are making money on that deal, and I know, somewhere along the line, this administration is making money on what was, so to speak, a free internet. Sure, we have to sit through ridiculous banners selling this or that, and now we have to watch out for Russian intervention, but to pay more or cut services more money to these "would-be" Capitalists even more than we do, is ludicrous once more.

https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/201 ... eutrality/
Comcast urged Pai's staff to reverse the FCC's classification of broadband as a Title II common carrier service, a move that would eliminate the legal authority the FCC uses to enforce net neutrality rules. Pai has said he intends to do just that, so Comcast will likely get its wish on that point.

But Comcast also wants the FCC to go further by making a declaration that states cannot impose their own regulations on broadband.

Despite calling for the FCC to abandon the legal authority it uses to enforce net neutrality rules, Comcast said it supports "a free and open Internet" and "legally enforceable net neutrality protections." Comcast told Pai's staff that the FCC could adopt net neutrality rules using its other authority—but the FCC tried that in 2010, and this previous attempt at enforcing net neutrality rules was struck down in court.

Alternatively, Comcast said the FCC could decide not to impose its own rules and simply rely on the Federal Trade Commission "to ensure that ISPs' public commitments to core open Internet protections are honored." Such a move would essentially set up a "voluntary" net neutrality system in which ISPs would face no rules and would choose whether to make net neutrality commitments.
Also relevant.

Yes, cherry picking..

You focus on.
"Comcast (one of the largest internet service providers) says they will not throttle legal content."

Ignore.
"Repealing net neutrality sounds like a bad deal all around."

Then pretend my comment somehow insinuates I believe Comcast's claim.

When in fact I actually said.
"But all you need is one detractor like Comcast"

Fuck you. :tard:
