I never feel the need to be at the head of the pack to get something new. I'm a patient person.

I wouldn't pay that, especially since I need to buy a fucking $1000 HD enabled TV too to be able to take full advantage of it.

PS3 Console = $450
1 Extra Wireless Controller = ~ $40
4 Launch Games (@$60/ea) = $240
Memory Card so you can take your saves with you = ~ $30
Remote = $30
Insurance on system (@EB) = $50
Total = $810 + tax (>$40) = $850 on the rim; out the door

Insurance on system (@EB) = $50 WTF. don't you guys have renter's/house insurance overseas?
Total = $730 + tax (>$40) = $770 on the rim; out the door

Don't need the extra controller, don't need to take save files with me, don't need a remote as I have a DVD player, will only get 1-2 games when I buy it, and the price will drop considerably by the time I decide to pick it up. That's about $400 if I play my cards right.

Yeah, but you just KNOW the fecker's will try to pull the wool over the British public's eyes and pretend there is no such thing as exchange rate...
I foresee a UK price that is the numerical equivalent of the Dollar price, or slightly (but not realistically) lower.

Even £400 is cheap. Your getting well over a grands worth of harware. Great CPU, great board, fantastic ram and a graphics card that beats anything we have now, or probably will have in the next year.
The price is "supposed to be" around £180 for the xbox, £120 for the rev and £220 for the PS3, these are the UK launche prices that the companies have said they would be happy with.
And i don't know about you but thats a good deal for the cpu/board alone.

I mean for fuck's sake, even WITH V.A.T considered, that's still completely unrealistic.
