I'll pass your compliment on to the lawn service.

I needed more storage on the bike so I installed some locking, removable, hard leather saddle bags. I also changed out the turn signal to some LED low profile lights as the factory signals would be in the way of the bags.
I also picked up a nice hard leather sissy-bar bag (not in picture).
How many days are planning on taking? The only thing to really worry about is your ass getting sore but I suspect your harley probably has a bit more padding than my Z900, if not, I'd invest in some kind of padding for that long a trip. I did a little over 600 miles in a day and yeah... I was a little sore, wouldn't recommend more than 400 miles a day. On my bike anyway.

I've made the investment into a nice seat with backrest. It has fixed my issue with sore ass. So can ride 400 miles no problem. The longest single day ride this trip will be around 750 miles, from south east Florida to New Orleans.

Looking at pictures of the Z900, I'm not surprised your ass was sore. That's not much cushion.Κracus wrote:

Fractured my ring finger a month ago, missed 5 weeks of hockey thus far. On the plus side, going to Cuba on Friday

Re: What is new in your little world?
750 miles? Yeah... That's uh, ambitious. I'll just say this, I left my home at 5am, only stopped for food and restrooms and I got to NYC at around 8:30pm. Although, on my way back I left at 5am and got home at 6:30pm and that was approximately 650ish miles and I was going anywhere from 80mph to 140mph...YourGrandpa wrote:I've made the investment into a nice seat with backrest. Maybe my route is more direct and less congested than the one you took.Google Maps calls it 752 miles and 10h 18m. I would like to do it in 12h, stopping for fuel and food. I'm not saying that I'll make it. But that's the plan.

Picked up this neat piece of tech. for my trip. I hope to use my GoPro quite a bit and needed a way to transfer files to a portable USB hard drive without a laptop. You can plug your Camera SD card in one side, your USB drive in the other and use an app on your cellphone to transfer the files. It also can be used as a wireless hot spot or router, for wireless media sharing on a network and a 6700mAh external charger for your cellphone or tablet. And for $32.99 I thought I'd give it a try.

No one cares about that fucking motorcycle...

Especially since I have very limited space for nonessential items.
Re: What is new in your little world?
Bought a new car. Finally got rid of that clunky '05 Renault Scenic. Got a Renault Megane Estate now.
Not my car but it's the same model/similar color.

Nice, they don't sell those over here at all. Like, I may have seen one Renault in my entire life.

Look at MKJ trying to be funny. Today's ride saw 4 states and 789.7 miles.
Re: What is new in your little world?
Can’t wait for the next update...
Re: What is new in your little world?
Really I am a little jealous
I'd love to do a ride like that, weather permitting.
You'd guess by now maybe I do love driving and I think nothing of getting in my wheels at anytime after provisioning up with little planning and set off for a day or three. I just find it relaxing and yes, call it escapism perhaps

Here we go, here’s a real trip. None of that 2000 miles on a motorcycle redneck bullshit.Don Carlos wrote:Recently landed in Singapore...I am tired
How’s Singapore, Donny? What you there for?
