They lost the Champions League semi final against Tottenham Hotspur because the Spurs scored a goal in the very last minute of the match overtime.

You mean Tottenham Hotspur? Both Tottenham and Manchester Utd play in the English premier league, but yesterday Tottenham played against Ajax in the Champions League, which is like the European championship for clubs. Ajax is a Dutch football club and they don't normally play against a club like Manchester United, unless they both qualify for the Champions League and meet each other there.
