Indeed

But I am glad they recognised it needed more time; too many people release substandard games now and patch the shit out of them for 12 months to get them how they should have been at launch. I actually would still prefer them to go with the "It's done when it's done" mantra with their games.

Getting a bit of a Halo vibe with the powerups but I'm sure the core gameplay loop will be as tight as before.

Badass.

I liked the music, though it doesn't seem to be Trent this time around.

No, it's Mick Gordon. He did the music for Doom 2016 as well.
Trent Reznor did the music and sound FX for Quake 1, not Doom.
He was for a brief while involved in Doom 3 but pulled out of the project early in development.

If you've never seen Mick Gordon's GDC presentation about doing the music for Doom, check it out. It's over an hour long but well worth it. He's not only a fantastic musician, he's also a very talented presenter.

Cool.
I still like to put up BFG Division from then previous game's sound track just to get my colleagues all riled up.

Edit: that's not entirely true. A good portion of them go "oh, Doom, cool".

I can't help but imagine a Cacodemon with a rocket going down its throat when I hear that song. Good memories.

Not too sure about the platforming and the camera being taken away by the players, but Yespls nonetheless.

Can confirm the platforming is wonderful when in full flow but irritating when you get it wrong

lol, I love him. He's a bit like a toned down, id software version of Ben Brode.

This gets me really excited for the game. Really glad they didn't get sucked into the RTX rabbit hole, and what he has to say about it now the game is done and they can look at implementing it is really intriguing.
