This could be argued that if the current house Republicans had the majority like they did in 2016, they would not bring up impeachment charges and they'd defend their dude. However, that is no real gauge if a crime had been committed or not considering a lot of them are conspiring (Devin Nunes, Matt Gaetz, ..etc)

I think we’re in bad shape as far as the election goes. Bernie is the front runner and he’s the most radical of the democratic candidates (except for Yang, but he’s gone). His ideas are going to turn off a lot of independents and moderate democrats. This is what Trump wants. He knows he can beat a more radical opponent as opposed to a more moderate democrat that can appeal to more people. He’s been attacking Biden, Buttegeig, and Bloomberg because those candidates are more electable. He’s saying very little about Bernie. He knows (or the smarter people in the room are telling him) that he can easily beat Bernie. If he can beat Hillary, he can beat Bernie...
