Just fitted some LED lighting in the wardrobe for the Mrs and now off to the shop for 'heat shrink' tubing. Been years since I used the stuff...

Well the LED lighting went down a treat  and it was weird playing with that heat shrink tube stuff.

Next little project is to investigate/fix the kitchen lighting issu. One of 5 LED ceiling lights started flickering. You guessed it, that style of fitting is no longer available so I replaced all 5 with new and I made sure the new were able to be dimmed. They flickered occasionally so I figured the dimmer switch too was 'old tech' and replaced it. Still happening :miffed:

All new stuff should be compatible so I'm off to read up and post question in another forum but feel free to offer a suggestion :D

Investigations reveal I need a compatible dimmer for the new LED fittings :smirk: You'd think there was a standard wouldn't you!
So off to the lighting shop later in the week

Meanwhile I finished 2 Lego Technic rebuilds :D Good fun and a challenge.

There's usually only two types of dimming when it comes to American LED lighting. Line voltage and low voltage. Line voltage dimming has a lot of compatibility issues, which is why the majority of today's LED lighting is going to low voltage dimming. I'm pretty sure you're trying to do line voltage dimming. You need to make sure you have a dimmer that's compatible with LED drivers and even if it is compatible you can still have issues with flickering at various light levels or the lights shutting off before they really dim. It might have helped to do the research prior to replacing the lights. Live and learn I guess. GL.

Last week I replaced the front four speakers on my bike with a newer series. The low end mid bass sounds much better as anticipated. However, my new bag lids haven't arrived yet. So I still can't install my rear speakers.

On Sunday I helped a friend install a new amp and front speakers in his bike.

I'm attempting to do DIY in my house. So I'm putting raised legs in the attic space and then doing the insulation and then raised leg boarding. I was going to do 60 stilt legs but once the insulation is down that's it; so I might upgrade to 180 legs and have more storage space that I actually need but it's there for future use...saving a good chunk of change by doing it myself

I did that too Don when we moved a few years ago, nothing too technical to worry about it just takes more time (doing it outside of work) than paying someone else to do it. So in that case it's a perfect lockdown activity!

Something satisfying about those slotted loft boards.. and getting a nice cut around the rafters :E

He actually prefers hip hop apparently. So it's even worse he drives around listening to Ja Rule.

I finally remembered my q3w password so I can login on my PC instead of the 10 year old Mac I boot up once every 6 months that still has my PW saved in the field.

Hello everyone.

That's a really cool set, far more complicated of a build than I was expecting. It's interesting how they managed to get all those 22.5-degree angle faces to snap into the central structure. I also got the Lunar Lander model, less interesting of a build, but looks great sitting next to the Apollo.

I finished the build a day or two ago. Always nice to use every part and have no spares :)

I did make one or two errors in the build process in reading/skipping instructions, usually orientation, putting assembled sections in the wrong way :smirk:

Yes, a very interesting build like you say obsidian. They did a good job to get the rocket curve just right.I also like on this one the different joining/fixing techniques employed to make it all lock together.

That Lunar Lander model, would you recommend at all?

I did that Saturn V with my son awhile back Whiskey. Great kit. We are currently working on that 7000+ piece Millennium Falcon. That one is a beast.
