(CNN) - Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died on Friday due to complications of metastatic pancreas cancer, the court announced. She was 87.
Ginsburg was appointed in 1993 by President Bill Clinton and in recent years served as the most senior member of the court's liberal wing consistently delivering progressive votes on the most divisive social issues of the day, including abortion rights, same-sex marriage, voting rights, immigration, health care and affirmative action.
Along the way, she developed a rock star type status and was dubbed the "Notorious R.B.G." In speaking events across the country before liberal audiences, she was greeted with standing ovations as she spoke about her view of the law, her famed exercise routine and her often fiery dissents.
Drumpf is going to try and ram a conservative through the nomination process for the Senate to put in place. That'll be 2 generations of firm GOP control of the Supreme Court we can look forward to. He put out a list last week of names he'd consider for a vacant seat that included great minds such as Tom Cotton and Ted Cruz. We are so fucked.
She knew her time was up days before she died. I read that she dictated to her granddaughter
"My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed."
It's pretty sad when you've lost so much faith in your country that you can't even retire to enjoy your last few years because you're trying to prevent an administration from doing what you feel is wrong.
No one in their right mind wants an unbalanced justice system. But we all know that both parties would take advantage of this situation to leverage their position.

The GOP is fiercly against appointing durin an election year, remember?
To be fair, I misunderstood your point the first time I saw your post, too. I initially filled in your one-word comment as "whoops, now I have to follow through," rather than as "whoops, now I'm going to look like a hypocrite."

Don't bother. It's not entirely uncharacteristic for seremtan to backpedal by twisting his own words (or intentionally being vague so he can fill in the meaning later on).
