edit: even at the beggining of the film theres something similair to an X wing, like its youger brother

and r2d2 owns, i was cracking up when he covered the speaker because it was making to much noise

i went and watched it today. i thought it was the same shit as the last two. it would have been better as a fucking silent movie. the dialog was about as retarded as ep2.

yeah, the dialog wasn't too good in most places. I loved it anyway, though, just seeing how Anakin was seduced to the dark side, and Obi Wan giving him a chew out. I do wish they could have written better than comic book dialog. It would have totally owned if they did. Going to see it again.

i didnt see it btw, but from what i did see i thought it looked a lot better than ep 1 and 2. it kinda looked like how i wanted ep1 to be - the empire in its early stages and TIE tech being developped et al.

and vader just ownz anakin 3 ways over :icon14:. that dude that plays anakin is such a dork

lucas stated more than once than hes not doing another trilogy. ofcourse he changes his mind every 2 days so who knows. itll prolly suck, although not as bad as ep1 n 2.
he also did say that after 1 to 6, he "deserved to make some flops now". which i found ironic :D

Check out http://www.supershadow.com/ (which george lucas is apparently affiliated with). He answers lots of questions, including his plans for the SW TV show, eps 7-9 AND 10-12 :)

did anyone notice how when anakin went to that hot lava planet, and it showed his ship approaching the landing dock, that it was one of those "bad guy" space ships from ep. 4-6, with the round thing in the middle and the flat perpendicular wings on the side? and then when it showed the close up of his ship landing it was just the normal ship he was in..

Agreed. Personally I think it was the worst one yet.

The acting was bad, in a way where it makes the movie worse, rather than just providing potential camp. Some of this was the actors fault, the majority of it was the insanely poor dialogue.

Editing was pretty strange at times and Lucas really loves that wipe away effect. I didn't care for the fighting much in this one for whatever reason. The closest thing to an exciting fight was Obi-Wan vs Anakin but I'm still perplexed at the whole "I have the highground" aspect at the end of it....

Dooku and Grievous were wimps who ultimately didn't get to do much of anything before they were gone. I felt Anakin's reasons for choosing the darkside were borderline absurd. The wiping out of the Jedi's was terribly done. Nothing like simply being shot in the back by a handful of clone troopers. Palpatine burnt his own face for no apparent reason. Perhaps he should have stopped with the lightning after it was, you know, burning up his face and clearly ineffectual to Samuel L. Jackson.

Special effects were of top quality as usual, in fact, I don't think there was a single scene where there was some million dollar CG going on in it somewhere.

I'm glad this new trilogy is over and the opening 30 minutes of Jedi(Thats pretty much the entire Jabba/freeing Han Solo section) was better than this entire movie.

He uses the exact same fighter as he does in the whole movie. Sorry, you lose.

aye, because it was flying away from the camera the 'body' of it looked round and the wings extend to make it look kinda like a tie fighter

but it is def the same ship he uses throughout the film

I did, he was the usher at the opera thingy.
I thought it was a great movie, yet still had a couple of flaws.
First, the part where Palpatine is all "The dark side of the force is known to have abilities to help one stop inevitable death" and Anakin was all like "Yo, if you teach me these abilities I'm going darkside for sure" and then anakin goes to the darkside and Palpatine's like "Yeah, I uh...don't know these abilities but we can find out there secrets TOGETHER!". I mean, come on! Wouldn't you have been pissed and just killed him right there? Anakin took it like it was no big deal.

Second, Grievous went out like a punk. In the clone wars cartoons he was fucking BADASS but in this movie he sucked.

Also all the jedi just going down without a fight was lame as well. Shoulda been more fighting.

DICLAIMER: I'm stoned and drunk so that might not make any sense.

Just got back, and I thought it was fucking great.

The pure deviousness of Palpatine was extremely well done IMO.
He staged the entire setup flawlessly. He knew he had to allow his face to be disfigured, otherwise the entire Senate would have never believe the Jedi had tried to overthrow the government. There were tons of political references too if you cared to see them. An obvious one was Anakin saying 'You're either with me or you're my enemy' -- I imagine this probably got under a lot of people's skin. One of the less obvious ones though, was the fact that Palpatine created the entire war in order to consolidate power and render the Senate useless.

The lava scene with Anakin was unbelievable too. I'm amazed that they got a PG-13 rating, because it was completely brutal, especially for something like that to happen to such a central character.

I also liked they way Yoda tied in the 'immortality secret' at the end. Since Qui-Gon discovered it, it allows Yoda and Obi-Wan to appear before Luke in the original movies the way they did -- and apparently Anakin learned it as well (from the last scene of Return of the Jedi where he appears with them too). The irony of the fact that Padme's death unfolded just as he had forseen it, but due to the actions he took to prevent it, was also done well -- I also liked the dual scenes of Padme giving birth to Luke and Leia just as Vader was being born in his final state.

All in all I thought it was a powerful movie, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, although some of the dialogue could obviously have been better. I thought there were just a very few things that seemed contrived though, and I believe it was a perfect tie-in to the rest of the series.

Fucking great, and I plan on buying it when it's finally released.
