How are you guys doing Santa Claus this year? Virtual Santa?
How do you explain how Santa comes in your house and not expose everyone of Covid?
Santa Claus
Re: Santa Claus
We... don't.
Never done a live santa anyway. I guess with Sinterklaas being the more important festivity for children here, Santa as a character doesn't have the same appeal.
As for Christmas in general, we're just staying home. We ordered this high quality "home delivery" meal at a good restaurant we know and we will bake some pancakes for our kids.

Re: Santa Claus
I just arrived at my parents place.
I decided not to work this year and so I easily could quarantine for the last 2 weeks.
Will stay here until the 28th or so.
My brother (living in the uk) won't be here this year. That's sad. But that's just how it is.
Besides that: Christmas eve itself will be the same (24th is the main gig in germany).
What's different though is the missing parties that usually happened between the years; No meeting old friends this year. Good for my liver, though.

Re: Santa Claus
Dr. Fauci said Santa was immune.
Re: Santa Claus
Eraser is such a pussy. Feel sorry for his kids...
Re: Santa Claus
Going to be just us this xmas.
We've told ours SC is immune, also magic STFU.
Our government (UK) is pressing ahead with letting three households mix for 5 days which IMO is madness so we're just going to spend it at home and focus on the kids and booze.
We might visit parents but stay outdoors at distance.

Re: Santa Claus
3 households?
Wow, over here we can only meet up with 2 people (above 12 years) simultaneously, which has been relaxed to 3 people for Christmas.
Must admit I would rather see they said that you just stay at home at Christmas and nobody goes to visit anyone, but I guess people would start crying about how lonely granny will be.

Yeah it's mental...in Wales we are being shut down a bit. Full lockdown from the 28thDoombrain wrote: Our government (UK) is pressing ahead with letting three households mix for 5 days which IMO is madness so we're just going to spend it at home and focus on the kids and booze.
Re: Santa Claus
Yup, we think it's nuts too (North of the border). ScotGov isn't going directly against the UK message but is heavily leaning on the "keep it down, 3 is the Limit not the Target etc etc". Although I think that sentiment might also be getting pressed down south too?
Rate has gone up past 1 recently up here too, so the spread is still there.
Dunno about you lot but we usually make xmas plans, family etc, waaay in advance so everyone was already resigned to distanced xmas prior to the extended meetup rules. We would have had to pick and choose and have everyone agree to which parents, grandparents, siblings etc would be able to group up so yeah.. everyone just decided to do what we originally planned anyway, which is distance.
I'm actually looking forward to having a bit more of a subdued holiday!
Xeros, yeah Santa is immune/magic etc is the general message in our house. Tbh the kids haven't made a huge deal out of it so it hasn't been anything we've had to properly storyboard (yet)!
We thought about doing an online Santa chat, but haven't followed through with that... lazy
Have used this previously, which is actually pretty nice - https://www.portablenorthpole.com/santa-video

It’s crazy. Fuck this administration. They’ve likened it to allowing the sale of cigarettes but warn you against smoking.Eraser wrote:3 households?
