If I understand this video correctly, getting exposed (not necessarily infected) to SARS-COV-2 once in a while will prevent such reactivations.

but by getting exposed one would increase their risk of infection. Also, the risk of long covid increases with each reinfection.

In some instances. Covid is an arterial disease and causes blood clots. No one can tell where the blood clots stop or what they will affect. That's why symptoms are all over the damn place. Looking forward to more research on this subject as I stay vigilant.
Yes, we've heard of the blood clot issue here and we too will stay vigilant.

On a related note :smirk: I still have 12+ pump packs of hand sanitiser in my cupboard downstairs. I thought to give them away to friends & neighbours but had second thoughts so I'll keep my stash.

Doesn't a vaccine "expose" you to the virus? An annual booster sounds like the most likely, and most logical future.

1) No, there isn’t a live virus in the MRNA vaccine

“None of the vaccines authorized for use in the U.S. contain a live virus. mRNA and viral vector vaccines are the two types of currently authorized COVID-19 vaccines available.”

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nc ... facts.html

2) Good thread on where we are. 1 in 5 cases suffer from Long Covid.

We still have our stash and keep our inventories stocked like it’s the beginning of the pandemic. The way I see it is, while no one cares supplies are bountiful and costs are low. Once we get more spikes or scares, that will change. :)

However, I doubt the world will ever care like they did at the beginning whuch still fell short of what we needed to prevent where we are now.

We were warned by experts that if we didn’t address this in the beginning, it would be more costly in the long run and they were right.

Thanks Whiskey, I hope you don't get it. I was in bed for 3 straight days, no food, only got up for water a few times and once I got up it was only to go lay down on the couch. All in all I was out for a week. Lost 10lbs tho... So there's that.

It's a very strange vibe if you grew up in the northern hemisphere with Christmas and Winter being entwined, to move to the southern hemisphere and experience Christmas in the middle of Summer.

Standing out on the patio BBQing steaks in blazing sunlight while jingle bells plays and there's a little christmas tree with snow decorations on it is... different. Also traditional christmas fare (cake, big meal) don't translate so well to the heat.

The good thing is that instead of a time of indulgence circumstances re-focus it as spending time with friends and family, which is just fine.

I guess that's fine. It does sound strange to Europeans tho. But afterall, once I might be able to see for myself, then I guess it's okay. For Europeans, Christmas would have to be in July for it to be in the middle of Summer. It makes sense for southern hemisphere.

Kracus said: I actually don't think so. If you look at how quickly it spreads governments should have been on top of this weeks ago. They're estimating something like 500,000 deaths due to this virus... I'm not sure if that stat was worldwide or just the UK...

Edit: yeah that's just the UK. 2.2 million in the US. People thinking this isn't serious need to wake the fuck up.
Doombrain said: Ffs I’m sick of saying this but you can only lock people up or limit movement for so long. You need to do it at the right time, for us that isn’t now. These people know what they are doing. That’s worst case btw. I’d spend a day getting your facts right.

Another subject, another expert testimony from Kracus. What a shock. Also, "thus" :olo:

I'm not 100% sure. A friend of mine wasn't feeling well and I dropped by to say hi, he said it wasn't covid but I suspect it was.

I guess my question is, since you predicted the severity of Covid, why are you not masking? Why not have better personal protocols?
