We have a boom3world channel on Discord now where we talk DIY nonsense like old men.
'like'.... :tard:
Hello Foo! I’ve left the basement unfinished as it’s just serving as my home gym and storage right now - and I diverted about $30,000 into a backyard renovation - put in about 100 feet of new retaining wall (well, I paid professionals to do that part as well as rip up an old pool deck, take out some huge pine trees, and pour me a new patio). Designed and installed a pretty extensive sprinkler system all on my own - that was fun. Laid about 2500 sq feet of sod about a month ago (unloading 5 pallets of sod at 48 is a blast). Still have to do something with the upper tier of the yard, but that is for another year. Finished a remodel of my kids bathroom too.
Been a while! The most memorable times were in the years of 2000-2003 for me, but those threads are lost forever. Not sure you guy remember dmmh. He was one of the only q3w members I've met IRL and he became a friend for many years. Later on we had sparsely contact, also cause I moved for my work to another place in the Netherlands. dmmh (Sander) died two years ago after an unfortunate accident when he hit his head in a drunken stupor on the bedpost and had an brain hemorrhage. I only learnt from this 6 months later. It's quite a shame and things might've been different.

I wish it was. When I learnt about his death, I was devastated because I thought he committed suicide because he had a clinical depression and a severe alcohol problem in the past few years. I saw him in 2020 just between the COVID lockdowns and he had become fat of all the Bacardi Cola's. He told me about the nightmary visions he had about hell and the devil. He was still Sander my old friend, but the years of recreational drug-use and alcoholism had cause psychosis and depression. He had a good job, house and a lovely dog. Too bad it went downhill this way.
His facebook page is a memorial now. Look up his name: Sander van der Linden
Damn. I figured out his name from the first name you gave and profile (msn addy), saw he hadn't put anything on his dmmh GitHub for a long time, but didn't manage to find the facebook page. Got it now. How unfortunate.
Damn, I'm pretty shocked to learn this about dmmh. It was a lot of fun when us Dutchees clogged together and unoxed the forum. Phoq was one of those names too.

He was a great guy and friend for many years. We've been snowboarding together with friends a few times. He even got his shit together after quitting his architecture study and got a good job at the municipality of Rotterdam. Too bad it went all downhil from 2017. I wondered if it was all preventable, but I guess not.
Though we hardly saw eachother anymore, we'd still had contact through whatsapp and social media. I do miss him from time to time.
