Hey all,
I really need help! I've got a OSP server all is well it starts up fine and everything. The only problem is the IP for it is Localhost:27960. I want to try get it to be an internet game so others can connect. I've tried everything with the firewalls and everything I can do with the router and modem. Can someone please tell me how to change a local game into an Internet game?
Thanks.

allright, judging by what you are saying, its on a home network..
then you need to forward the ports to that computers internal IP ( should be something like 192.168.1.100 or somthing to that effect )
Then make sure that you give people your INTERNET Ip address and it should connect, you can grab your internets IP addy from the routers Status Section.

I dunno .... lol. I'm kind of new to this whole scene. I used to have just a modem and a computer and quake worked fine putting up servers. Now it just won't work with a netgear router. Also i have service pack 2 installed. Lemme go thru this in detail:
Ok. I put my server up and it goes up with no worries. I give my friendz my internet IP. They try to connect but they can't. Then i try my internet IP and i can't connect either. If i type in
/connect localhost:27960
or 192.168.0.1
then it connects ...
When i scroll up in the blue console of my server, it says Opening IP socket : localhost:27960 and then 2 more lines down it says:
IP: 192.168.0.1 ... this is what i want to change so i can make it Internet. My friendz says its something to do with the router firewall and opening ports. So this is where i come to my conclusion.
