2 players through the Internet ?

Hi,

I'm trying to play with a friend through the Internet.
But i don't know how to do :
Because I'm behind a router, I asked him to do the following :

Multiplayer->Create->Choose map
I can win

Human
Open

Pure server : off
Dedicated : no

Then he clicks fight and enters the game and waits for me.
So I do Multiplayer->Specify and enters his IP adress. He's not behind a router or a firewall.

But I have the "Awaiting Connection" message all the time ; and the message that he uses protocol 43 for server.

Can you help me please ?

He probably has another version of quake according to the protocol 43 message

if your at 1.32, you can only play on 1.32 servers.

You have different versions of the game. I suggest you both update to 1.32 or at least to the same version. Here is a list of the versions and protocols.
