Just spend €400 on a 6600GT, Audigy 2 ZS and logitech x530 5.1 speakers.
I would have thought that some day, I would stop upgrading my computer, but guess the nerd inside couldn't resist.
On the other hand, I'm gonna get my beemer chipped.
That will make me less of a nerd.

No upgrades since I bought a stick of 256mb ddr266 ram in September 2004 from some guy on a local board for $30 CAD, which was very good at that time.

I'll probably be replacing the power supply in the next few days. Not really an upgrade per se, but it needs to be done because my computer is homosexual.

yup, I'm always putting something in the computers, and then there's a bunch of computers at work to tinker with, too. The old Mac is frankensteined to the max, new PC can always use a new heatsink or fan or something. This weekend I am going to learn about lapping a heatsink. Fortunately components occasionally give out, giving me a real reason to put in something new.

Just a new dual 2.5 powermac and a x800
- unfortunately I make too much money and don't have a car, house, dependants or a shred of common sense. If I spent the same amount of time recording in a professional studio as I do songwriting/producing on the mac, it would come to the same cost pretty quickly.

i just ordered a new computer all togeter, and will do so again soon
read a fun article btw, how a SLI config with two 6600GT's is both cheaper AND faster than 1 6800GT :icon14:

in Doom 3, but some applications SLI configs are
slower than just using the one video card

I'll be getting a second HDD soon, and a quieter case fan. Other than that I don't need anything faster right now, I'll probably buy a whole new rig after the summer.

they benhced doom3, farcry 1.3 (3 dif maps) and HL2 (2 maps)
i suppose it only helps on apps that know they can use the SLI.. kinda like dualprocs

I read somewhere that you need a special driver profile for each game to take advantage of a SLI setup. So you'll really only get to use your SLI for new, well known games.

i havn't had the time or the money to spend on my pc since i got a 9800pro right before doom3 was released.
i havn't purchased a pc game my pc couldn't handle since its major overhaul a few years ago...
i don't nickel and dime my pc; just use it until it sucks, then relegate it to the server closet and buy all new swag.
