all ya gotta do is make a will saying you wanna be cremated, i'm doing the same thing, fuck that if my family is spending 14+ plus just to burry my dead ass, when they can spend 3k to burn my ass..
Sory about that, labs are such great dogs, so mellow. I never had a dog, only cats, but I've been through the same thing. I have a rickety 18 year old cat, I kind of dread when the time will come, even though she's doing fine now. I've had to have 3 cats put to sleep, it's hard. I learned a new technique for not crying in public from a friend, he said you just breathe and concentrate on your breathing. It works for some stuff but i haven't tried it on real grief yet.

So anyway, on Monday we're taking him to the vet's office and they're going to give him a shot. They said he will fall asleep 5 minutes after the shot, so he will finally be able to really rest.
Well I wouldn't say he's going to be getting any rest, Transient, because he isn't actually going to sleep, in fact, he's going to die.
I'm sorry man, it was a sad day when we put my dog Ranger (German Shepard) to sleep. We were inseparable for over 13 years and I held his head as the Vet gave him the needle. It's more like 30 seconds though. I felt him stop struggling and just let go. I miss him and doubt I will ever get a replacement.
We asked for our dog back once he was put down and we burried him next to dad's old dog, under a tree where we used to live. Our cat's burried there too. Not only is it free, but it means more than having him cremated/burried in a pet cemetry.
Sorry about your dog Trans . I have an oldish dog who's getting on a bit now, he needs to have painkillers but im dreading the day when he will have to be put down.
Man, reading that makes me want to cry. My dog is getting up there and I dont want to think about this stuff too much. I'm sorry to hear about your loss, but at least we all know it's for the better. I'm sure he had a good life and was treated well. It's just his time, but it's still painful.
Where were you when the West was defeated?

one of my parents cats got put down a while back. sucked because the damn thing was almost as old as me and a part of the family - took my parents and the cat up to the vets, then the vets assistant wasn't there, so i held the cat still while the vet gave him the jab. horrible having the little fella die in my arms.
felt some sort of warped pride and took comfort in the fact that the vet had to jab him 4 times to get him to actually die. he just kept rolling his eyes around like a drunk, sticking his tongue out and purring loudly.
attention? theres 3 of em out there...i am watching from the window...they don't need dad out there too...my kids aren't fucked up like u were as a child...
