How did I know you'd get that screenshot out
You still suck. Watching you try to strafejump on that demo against reefsurfer proves what a noob you are. So unsmooth. Put you up against any decent player and you'd be nowhere

It will take a fairly large pipe to host 50-60 players. Anything less than a pair of bonded T1's will fail miserably.
See, I don't understand this part. I know you people laughed at me the first time because I was so ignorant, but I tend to be more public relations than tech.

Put this in English for me: what do I need to ask for?

Who has a pipe large enough?

I asked VE once and he said he would do it and he is on a large pipe but he is a businessman--he can't take the risk of using a mod on his servers that id doesn't endorse as legal. Tbh, I am not sure anyone will, outside of one of us privately.

Last year I spoke with Todd about this issue. The last I heard about it was then----that our mod was based on code that perhaps drew from an illegal source of q3 code. I think opinions differ. I have to assume since no legal action has been taken and i have not been told otherwise, that it is perfectly acceptable for us to use this mod.

After all----is q3fusion still on sourceforge or wherever it was found?

Lemme just address this topic with my perfect logic.

Towers are special because it's hard to reach a certain height without someone shooting everyone off.

When you code a modification to remove any damage, it ruins why it's special to make a tower.

When you connect with multiple clients from the same computer, it also defeats the purpose.

The last tower that Q3W did was invalid. It used that special tower modification, and many people connected with more than one game.

Edit: If someone wants to paypal $1200 so I can get a hard drive recovered, I have a map I was making (scale, and probably about 60% accurate) of the World Trade Center. I may as well just recreate the whole thing, as it would probably run better based off of ASE models.

Image That may be the only thing I have left of it... I remember I used to noclip and then jump from the top in game. It would take an awful long time to hit the bottom. It was fun to jump and shoot rockets down and once I landed I would wait for the rockets to arrive and then use them to rocket jump all the way back to the top.

I think the most pressing technical issue on this forum is the lack of a script that parses and automatically deletes rep's posts.

That wasn't the real tower twit, we were checking on gohuge or something how many the fusion engine could handle. That's when everybody was logging in more than once. The real tower were all unique players

Um

Where were you during the last tower?

Yes---the mod includes damage off so none of these idiots here can wait until like 40 or more of us are stacked and say, "Oh looky at the pretty target---BOOM" and have us there towering all day. It was still possible to kill oneself or be kicked. So it wasn't like everything was preordained to work---as a matter of fact we didn't get as many on the tower as we had wished to.

I was right in the middle of the first tower, from pimping it everywhere to practicing and acquiring what we needed to acting as liason to id to get what help we could from them. Only in practice on a trickjumper's map did I ever see more than one client connect from the same IP. I don't believe GH allowed that---we discussed it beforehand.

We did not use _noclipping or anything of the sort. We jumped and climbed. When discussing this with Todd Hollenshead, he mentioned to me, "Oh, I didn't know you guys were doing it the hard way." That tower was 100% valid, though I admit I would feel better making one where damage could be left on. That isn't very realistic among a group like us, sadly.

And with warez being ok around here now, no one has offered to send you recovery software?

I am amazed and impressed then. Those of us that had been there a while before the start often had trouble getting back on once we left or were kicked. I know I never got back on myself after being fragged or kicked one or another.

And if you didn't have server access to ip's how could you have guessed there were multiple connections?

Trust me--I got to deal with people who signed up who never made it on the server at all--I am very skeptical that one person at all managed more than one connection---it was hard enough to manage one.

I have this idea, people.

I know most of you think I am kind of weird anyway so I don't think I will lose much esteem or sleep by suggesting it.

Hey Rep....if we pull this together again, you wanna help me manage all the details? Do it right? I admit I know very little about the technical side to things. Dayve and glossy and riddla and fender have had to set me straight and patiently explain so much to me. I could use someone that knows their stuff and just think...

There cannot be anyone that doesn't hate me or you, if not both of us. We might build a tower simply on that.

If we seriously decide to do this, we need:

1)someone willing to pimp all the boards/spam everyone to get sign-ups---no matter how many sign up---they are never all there.

2)somone willing and able to create and maintain our sign-up page

3)somone to bundle all the sofware an host it with _simple_ instructions on how to install it

4)someone who will agree to film things

5)a server

Yet there isn't a single e in your sentence.
