Ten Four, calling all geeks. Graphics card question

Post by Pauly »

OK peeps.

I currently have a Geforce 5950 Ultra and I reckon it's time for an upgrade soon. I used to keep up with the latest technology for PC's but now I have no real idea of what is available.

I have seen mention of the new SLI cards but I don't think my motherboard can use them, because it's some new PCI slot, is that right? So basically what would be a good upgrade for a regular AGP port that's reasonably priced, I'd say around £300 ($550)?

Cheers Geekos.

Why not the 6800GT? Best bang for buck when it comes to high performance...

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

I have a BFG Tech 6800 GT, overclockes to Ultra with no sweat. Now the 6800 series should have some price falls when the new 7800 series comes out. So I would wait for the 7800 series to come out so you can save some oney hopefully

So, what brands are the ones to look at?
Seems BFG gets a lot of love around here.

My Dual-Molexed ASUS 6800 GT (256Meg DDR3 version) overclocks to well over Ultra speeds (stock: 350/1000, Ultra: 400/1100, mine: 420/1166). Card is still completely stock, I'm loving this card...
