I know. It is fairly amazing.
Yet there isn't a single e in your sentence.
That was on purpos_ .

Well, see---I figure he can make himself useful and help me if he knows what a poor job I did of it last time.

You know, you guys flame towers and find what it wrong with them and how stupid they are, but it sure is a fun way to kill a little time and laugh hard at each other. For instance, look at me--I am so motion sick I can barely move on a map let alone jump up onto someone. I have to call bottom or climb people and I don't do even that well.

=D

Anyone has a sense of humor in here?

My ass. I went on a few times and saw several of the same people.
That wasn't the real tower twit, we were checking on gohuge or something how many the fusion engine could handle. That's when everybody was logging in more than once. The real tower were all unique players
Yeah when we were testing the server i had 9 clients running on 2 machines.. the final tower we did i ran 1 client for me, and my gf did 1..
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

Aliased. It must have been during one of the practice attempts. The map was a custom map... It was a giant box, and in the area where the tower was started there was some sort of powerups (Maybe haste and quad?) I was just rocket jumping around for a few minutes and signed off.
Kn0wFuRy wrote:And with warez being ok around here now, no one has offered to send you recovery software?
I like doing it the legit way. I'd rather pay someone to do it. It's way beyond something software could handle... This is a job for the people who can recover stuff from drives that have been on fire. It's not that bad, but basically it's not even recognized by anything (Windows or even Linux which I was told could boot up a drive that's been flushed down the toilet.) It was fine one minute, then I put it in another computer as a slave and said, "This would be a good time to back everything up." And when I booted it up it wasn't recognized. I put it back in the computer it belonged in, and no dice.

I'm just lucky that the stuff I lost wasn't all that important to me.

Kn0wFuRy wrote:And if you didn't have server access to ip's how could you have guessed there were multiple connections?
I'm not saying it was raw, but it was someone with a short name like that. Let's just assume it was him, it was like "raw[Q3W] connected" then they'd hop up, and you'd see a chat icon, then you'd see, "raw[Q3W] connected" and they'd go up again. It's been such a long time, and I was only on for a few minutes. They were probably just doing as you said, testing to see how many clients could get on the server at one time, since it was as you said a practice session.

There were some kind of pillars or structures near where the tower started, and possibly even a flight powerup, right?

Edit: I have an EASY way of cheating, people. Make a large set of stairs about 64 units high each step, grouped with a (I'm really rusty on my Q3Radiant entities, so bear with me) func_plat with a func_button attached to it, right? Then have everyone just run up it (It could be wide so there could be multiple lanes).. Then when everyone is in place, press the button (or shoot it) to remove the 'training wheels'

This way you'd never run into those situations where it's hard to get around a certain player.

The ideal maximum tower would be a spiral staircase, as wide as possible. You could fit the most people on it per a given height.

no flight powerup.. the structures were to a "tunnel" built from small peices.. and the powerups were haste, that splash armor shit, and quads..

We practiced on gohuge. I went to a trickjump forum where the mapper posted and asked his permission to use it for our practice.

Yes---you probably did see many people cloned so to speak, there.

Though, to be honest, I never remember once on that practice map or on the tower map seeing anyone with the nick raw. raw himself wasn't on either.

Theoretically how many players can the Quake 3 engine handle connected at once? Imagine you have a server of infinite specifications and power, how many can be connected?
