I think you can manually change the controls in the file .\fps\client\config.cs
default keys are:
movement: w, s, a, d
place temporary brick: left mouse
move temporary brick: numpad arrows
rotate brick: numpad 7 and numpad 9
raise/lower brick: numpad 1 and numpad 3 and numpad 5 and numpad +
commit temporary brick: numpad enter
select bricktype: 1 - 5
drop bricktype: ctrl + bricktype slot (1 - 5)
the idea is that you pick up the bricks on the floor. Once you've picked up a brick you can place an (infinite) number of that brick. First you place a temporary brick (blue transparant overlay) then rotate/move that to the desired location, then you commit it to that location and then place another brick.
Use the spray paint to color bricks (repeatedly select it to change color) and use the hammer to destroy free bricks

I found the answer there is a server side mod that allows u to put block in mid air.
