Let's do a photo thread in GD

Post by Kn0wFuRy »

I think this might be my first time to do a GD photo thread. Or maybe the second. I cannot really remember. Go ahead and flame----people who know me know I don't care. Pictures are fun. :)

If an old woman like me has the nerve to post a pic, the rest of you guys ought to, too. To answering flaming questions in advance, no I am not an attention whore, nor do I seek anyone's approval. I just simply think these threads are fun. =D

Me sitting here a few minutes after a really long day:

Ok--this is what you get when you combine a cruddy webcam with a tired woman that doesn't really much care an awful lot what anyone thinks she looks like, but loves to laugh at the way people will react at times.

Who else has skin thick enough to join me in a delightful photo thread?

*grins semi-sleepily*

(the colors are a bit askew in this pic though :))

I don't usually have this much hair or beard, just wanted to let it grow and see how it looked after a visit to the hairdresser =) Been cutting it with a machine my self since my armydays in '97 =)

Complete idiot-fest in there
Yeah, I missed that one.

I haven't been around much and knowing me, probably I will be in and out again.

I suppose I am used to making my own photo threads because women are in the minority and if a woman has the nerve to post it is sad when men won't and I don't mind saying it.

That thread knocked me flat, almost--I am safer in this one. Join me in posting a pic everyone that didn't post in that one or who has more than one pic.

Wow.. KF is actually kinda pretty with glasses on..
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

I think we have a love match! KF, are you inclined to agree? He is a true renaissance man and has done practically everything in the world . His exploits have been well-documented in the picture thread. So, what say you?

Here are some old ones of my swinging a golf club. I think GKY did a frame by frame analysis of the swing way back when...someone please photoshop the rest of my hair into that first one...

Image

edit: For the golf pros out there, I've since worked on my swing to lessen the amount that my right shoulder has dipped there...

Still hitting an old TaylorMade R580. Bought it right before the R580XD came out, then the big breakthrough started with the dual beta titanium faces, the moveable weights, etc. I went to the course and demo'd a new MacGregor Mac Tec NVG today (I have a bunch of pro-shop credit from some tournaments...so I was thinking of picking one up...the guy I played with last weekend was flying this thing 330 - all carry - but he was also 6'2" and 255 and a college tight end). Didn't like it though. The only demo club they had was an 8.5 degree loft with what felt like an extra stiff shaft, which basically gives no 'kick' when you swing, and when you couple that with the fact that the club produces low spin rates, it feels like you are firing knuckleballs off the clubface.

So, I will stick with the R580 for now. I can still hit it 300+ if pretty easily if I smoke it, and average 275-285 when I am just playing my natural fade.

I am hitting the Titleist 704 CB irons right now...forged, a nice compromise between blades and cavity backs. Workable, but forgiving. I hit a nice high fade with those too. Hit my 4 iron as high as my 9 iron. Love that, because I can land my long irons on the green soft.

But that is probably way more info than you cared to hear. What the hell..I play Titleist Pro V1X golf balls. Never use the regular Pro V1's because I put too much spin on the ball with them.

BTW - you can get those R580s for under 200 bucks now brand new. But don't stick with the factory shaft. I hated the way they were tipped - too whippy - so I have a Grafaloy Pro-Lite S flex.

Are you still able to play with those neck/back problems you were having?

Well, my neck problems will always be there because of this:

[lvlshot]http://img240.echo.cx/img240/2948/myneck9kr.jpg[/lvlshot]

But I can still play. Simply put, I am now starting to develop arthritis in some regions around the fusion. This is resulting in some impingment on the nerve roots at times. I am also getting some degeneration of other discs proximal and distal to the fusion. The surgeon can't give me a definite answer as to how much golf will or will not accelerate my neck problems. He told me golf would be no problem after surgery once it healed up, but I think he figured I meant I played casually a few times a month with friends, not competetively and frequently. Anyhow, as long as I am doped up on the pain meds I can get through 1 round just fine. Playing 2 days in a row is tough because my hands are usually numb in the morning the day after playing. By the end of the 2nd day I am really, really feeling it though - feels like my biceps have a red-hot fireplace poker shoved into them (probably from the inflammation near the nerve root I'd guess).
