North Korea and China
North Korea and China
Question for people who might understand the intricacies of these two nations relationship better than I -
What prevents them from being allies - especially in this day and age?

No expert about the subject but when north korea became communist it did so with help from the soviet union. And i remember the soviet union and china had conflict about how communism should be. Pure like china was and maintained, or a watered-down form like soviet union which became more capitalistic as time went on. Maybe this explains a bit of your question?

They actually are allies. China is the only major ally North Korea has. They'd probably be better friends at this point if Kim Il Jong wasn't such a wing nut.tnf wrote:Question for people who might understand the intricacies of these two nations relationship better than I -

Here's a great article on China and North Korea. New York Times article (it may require registration to read but it only takes 30 seconds to sign up)
