Martial arts sites?
Martial arts sites?
Anyone know of any sites that actualy explain the techniques for martial arts moves? I've been searching all day on google and comming up with very little. Anyone know any good sites? I'm especialy interested in grappling and arm holds.

Seems like something you can't really learn on the internet...Kracus wrote:Anyone know of any sites that actualy explain the techniques for martial arts moves? Joking aside, I had a limited collection of grappling techniques on video somewhere.
But what the fuck, probably not applicable in clubs with the tables and whatnot.
P.S. videos will never tell you the key things in making something work.

If you already have a basic knowledge you just need to know where to hold, how to twist etc... It's not like diagrams of martial arts moves are a new thing they've existed pretty much as long as martial arts itself. I have a very limited knowledge of how to move once I've caught an arm or caught a leg. I know a few things but it'd be nice to get into a better position where I could either choke or break an arm to be perfectly blunt and to the point.bitWISE wrote:Seems like something you can't really learn on the internet...Kracus wrote:Anyone know of any sites that actualy explain the techniques for martial arts moves? I'm a good fighter in terms of striking and blocking but I'm very weak on grappling. I'm looking at a few different types of martial arts I'd like to practice though that look really interesting.

This sites got a lot of forums but not quite what I'm looking for. http://www.fightingarts.com/reading/index.php
ok you fucking prick, you can't learn how to grapple by looking at some pictures or videos. You need to train with people who know what they're doing and roll with them for hours a week a minimum. Grappling isn't magical, you know why it's often so effective? Because of the way it has to be trained. Pictures are for kung fu fags and qi queers
edit: the difference between what you want and what you'd actually have to do to accomplish that is the difference between aikido and brazillian jiu-jitsu. Not many street-brawling thugs in aikido, are there. No, in fact they're mostly hippie gashes who couldn't apply what they learned and get their face split when they try and grab somebody's fist who isn't limp as an old dick. You can't learn anything effective like that. This is all hypothetical of course, since I'm pretty sure you don't go out, and have never been in a fight.
