pitch and yaw
:icon31: hello all, have been checkiing out the forums for info on pitch and yaw values, Have been messing around with values to improve aim, my problem is that i dont understand enough of the game dynamics (OSP), but think can improve aim this way and jump longer. I use inverted mouse. settings for pitch and yaw are 0.027, when i increase to far it is like default settings and have no control. sens is 7.5 good for the speed part ,not good for aiming. is like need more for the side strepping to match the sens (yaw) now being inverted would i decrease values rather than increase? what do u think? confused? I've confused myself using accel and different values of pitch and yaw not incrementally, more a xtrem value. trying to stik those rg shots. "I'm Gunna Get Ya" stand still and take it like a ...........
tis all good.

For inverted the pitch speed is a negative number but yaw stays positive.
Example (if you're confused):
Default for inverted: m_yaw 0.022, m_pitch -0.022
Faster: m_yaw 0.027, m_pitch -0.027
Understand?
Of course, having both 0.027, and -0.027 would defeat the whole purpose of being able to change them. All you'd really have to do in that case is increase the sensitivity. The whole point of yaw and pitch is to make them different so you can have either the horizontal sens. faster/slower or the vertical sens. faster/slower.

Re: pitch and yaw
Lower your sensitivity and set cl_mouseaccel to something between 0.1 and 1. Toy around with it a little to see what works best for you.in4me wrote:sens is 7.5 good for the speed part ,not good for aiming.

which operating system are you using? mouse and mouseware, if any? if you're using XP you'll want accel in windows disabled for games and there's also and advanced exe (mwadvanced_enu.exe) that accompanies logitech's mouseware which is fine to use instead of windows default. i think it's up to 9.81 or something, haven't checked.
this what i use in advance props (in case you you use logitech):
check enable game detection
uncheck keep mouse accel
uncheck keep mouse speed (will use q3 sens, not q3 on top of windows)
check keep trackball orientation (default)
check keep right/left buttons (default)
check keep keypress buttons (default)
uncheck other buttons (default)
check mouseware implementation for speed and accel
check speed for tracking optimization
people are right in saying your sens and mouse settings in q3 are a matter of personal preference but it's best to not use accel in q3, in general, so you want to make sure that it's gone in windows first.
these are my mouse settings in q3:
sens 7.2 (tho 9 something cause of thinshaft/i played zoomed at 280)
cl_mouseaccel 0
in_mouse 1
m_yaw .026
m_pitch .024
m_filter 0

create a file called autoexec.cfg and edit with notepad and place those commands in it.
place autoexec.cfg in all your mod folders and baseq3.
commands in autoexec.cfg are executed last and overide commands in q3config.cfg
sounds like an xp problem though .
