No iNGAME-Sound @ Quake3 Arena

Hi to all !

when i start quake 3 i don't have any sounds ingame. after the installation i got some wired and stupig laggy sounds, independent of any quake3 sounds.

do someone know what's wrong?

Do you get any error messages in the console after startup? Press the tilde (~) to view the console and pageup/pagedown for scrolling up/down. Type /condump condump.txt to store it to a file.

nope, i just can start the game and play without sound. but i saw, when i opened my console menu, this message:

WARNING: Could not find sound/misc..... using default. i checked my folder and this sound is in there :/

what can be wrong ?

You don't happen to have s_initsound set to zero, do you? Scan your q3config.cfg for cvars starting with s_ and post them here.

Try installing the latest drivers for your soundcard and try typing /snd_restart in the console.

Even better, delete the q3config.cfg from your baseq3 and mod folders and start up Q3A. You'll start out with a fresh and clean configuration.

still no sound .....

i installed bid for power, there i have sound ingame!!

can't i copy the sound to the q3 folder?

Weird. If you cant fix it i suggest you start playing OSP mod and see if you have sound there.

s_volume 1 btw
