OT: Nintendo DS owners

Post by Eraser »

Umm, I'm not sure where to post this but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't get noticed in GD and I think most DS owners and people that like alternative games visit IDL as well, so I thougth I'd post it here. It's not like IDL is bubbling with activity anyways.

So, my question, I have the following games:
  • Mario 64 DS
  • Polarium
  • Yoshi Touch & Go
  • Wario Ware Touched!
  • Need for Speed Underground 2
I finished Mario 64 DS (am still horribly addicted to some of the mini games though), only have 2 puzzles to go for Polarium, am bored with Yoshi T&G, done pretty much everything with Wario Ware (haven't gotten gold crowns for every character yet but that task is so daunting I don't even actively attempt it. It's more like doing a minigame or two at a time when I'm bored) and NFSU2 isn't that much fun anymore. I feel I need a new DS game. What are good DS games out now or soon to be released? What's the general opinion of Splinter Cell? Any other soon-to-be-released games that are worth nothing?

edit:
oh and I'm not going to buy Pac-Pix because my brother already has it.

FUCK SPLINTER CELL.

I was waiting for it for AGES. A shit long time. And i played it when it came in the other week, and you know what, its STUNNING to look at for a DS game... But the FPS are like 5. WOW. Fuck it, and fuck ubi soft and their shitty DS port team... The same with RAyman, great game, shit FPS.

Now hen. Take a look at Goldeneye. Thats a shit game on consoles, yeah? But the game on the DS is great, it feels and plays a lot like the original N64 version, and the MP is fantastic. Wireless 8 player MP fun. I would give that one a try.

But sir, if you buy SC, do NOT throw away that receipt.

Ah yes Mario & Luigi but I don't know when it'll be released in Europe. I'm also looking out for Nanostray which has a July 19th date for the US, but I don't know when it'll be released in Europe either. I might import it.

Are there any other good games out right now? Like zoo keeper? Is that any good?

Yeah I want that too, and Mario Kart ofcourse and Sonic Rush looked interesting as well (classic 2D Sonic game with 3D bits, can't go wrong)

Well it's not 3rd person 3D. It's 2d sidescrolling but apparantly the bosses are rendered in 3D.

Is Need for Speed Underground 2 any good? I doubt it is much compaired to the console counterparts, but if it's worth picking up for DS lemme know, I need a new game. Also, is it multiplayer?

Graphically I found it to be impressive. The handling is good as well. It is a very decent racer, but it's HARD.
The AI is pretty unfair at times. This time it doesn't suffer from the yo-yo catch-up effect but it's just that once you've lost the 1st place in the race, it's nearly impossible to get back there.

One other problem is that the cars become so fast at one point, it becomes nearly impossible to drive 'em at full speed through the bends. Not always are obstacles like cars quite clear enough, so you see them too late and you crash straight into them, and like I said, crashing is deadly for a race.

The start of the game isn't too hard, but I think I'm at 2/3rds now and it's just so hard I don't really find it funny anymore. My ride looks pimp though :icon31:

Anyway, it's a pretty good racer, but only if you're up for a real, real, real challenge.
