What's with the monetary boasting around here?

Post by Cool Blue »

Lately it seems like everybody and their dog feels the need to share either how much money they make or how rich they are.

Well, it's laughable for me because I'm betting none of them actually made it themselves, most likely living off of the accomplishments of the family like Paris Hilton. What a great comparison of these people... No substance, all flash.

So what's the deal, do these people think they're better than everybody else? Did they make their fortunes on their own, or are they rich kid chavs? Lets have some of these 'rich' people talk the talk for us, as I'm sure they are willing and able to share their success story with the rest of us. As much as I'm always interested in learning from those have done anyway.

So please, self described rich/wealthy people of Q3W, share with us your success. How do you manage your portfolio? What do you do for passive income? How do you vett your investments? How many hours a week do you dedicate to managing your portfolio? What markets do you prefer to trade? Do you prefer commodities, bonds, currency, real estate? What's your take on precious metals in the portfolio?

I won't list names *cough*Testicles*cough*, as these people know who they are since they 'keep it real'.

There are very, very few people who can actually dicuss finance with understanding. I really am curious about what they have to say. People who have actually accomplished something are the best people to learn from. Course... you want to make sure the person isn't just talking trash though right? I mean, anybody can throw out terms and phrases that make them look smart and capable.

Just cause someone bought a mac or an ipod doesn't make them rich, the trick is to find a job.

 Is that how I defined them as rich, owning an iPod? There are a LOT of rich people then.

The members you named had said they bought these items, so I assumed that's what you were refering to.

But Geoff, you aren't loaded, man, your wife is. Supposedly. I'm not one to call another man a liar, but your house is shitty, your car is old and your clothes are dirty.

If I was rich, I'd do shit like change cars every 6 months, wear cartier and rado watches, dress in Prada and eat out every single day.

Oh wait..
