i'd be interested in your equipment and any custom work done on your car. did you do it yourself? or a local shop?

i'm a big fan of fish tanks (though I know nothing about them) and thought they would look good in a potential entertainment room.

well a lot of factors will play into it. like i said if you want your system to tingle your balls while your are watching a movie you might be asking a little much of the fish. I dont know for sure if tank size has anything to do with it but the fish in my smaller tank (35 gal.) didn't do so well about 3 feet from my speakers. I had a 150gal. tank that was probably 15-20 feet away and I had no problems. I wouldn't call my set up anything like a theater room, but I do like to listen to music at pretty loud levels.
If you want to do both, talk to someone at your LFS, I'm sure they would have some good ideas on how to help keep the vibrations away from your tank(s)

heh, the design is nothing to fancy, but Ive got an alpine head unit just for the cd player, I'm not into changers or mp3 so Its bout middle of the road for them.
soundstream amp (think its 4x90 rms?) pushing MB Quarts front and rear
zapco 200w pushing a single 12 polk in a custom box i built
audio control eqs
doors have mat all around, gold connections all around, I built the box about .3 cu in. over spec for sealed inclosure, works great.

Soundstream made some great higher end stuff back in the day - is yours an older model as well? light blue in color?

zapco! man, they had some bitchin sounding amps. wasn't too keen on their aesthetics, but they sure were clean.

Quarts: always loved the neutral sound of them. their midbasses were always a tad under par as far as their output, but they sure were a clean driver.

i don't care for much Polk, but it sounds like yours can give you a good kick in the chest. what? no bandpass f@g box? no ported boom boom enclosure?!?! SEALED you say? my, you must like clean bass!

i liked audio control gear, although, i don't believe in using eq's until all the speakers have been optimally installed (kick panel for fronts, etc). i did have an audiocontrol epicenter way back when. boy that thing was nuts.

I have this slick Audiocontrol Four.1 in-dash EQ/line driver with an analog volume knob. It's all about the analog volume knob.

I had a $3000.00 car that had $10,000.00 worth of equipment in it. Granted the car looked good, I had it painted, put on custom rims and tires, and had the windows tinted real dark. But I only gave $3000.00 for it.

Though I did do all of the custom installation mysely. I didn't have the money to pay someone to do it for me.

Ahhh, what kids will do with their money. :icon26:

It's a 98 Dakota. It's angled under the dash where it slopes up since it won't fit in the radio slot. I'd take a picture if my camera had batteries.

I guess it's half din, maybe a bit smaller
