Konfabulator...

Post by Dave »

...is free now because they sold out to Yahoo. It seems to work better than Apple's dashboard and it works on PC (I don't know how well it works because XP doesnt have slick GUI, but it says it does).

You may not use the Software to operate nuclear facilities, life support, or other mission critical application where human life or property may be at stake. You understand that the Software is not designed for such purposes and that its failure in such cases could lead to death, personal injury, or severe property or environmental damage for which Yahoo! is not responsible.
Does this imply that someone has actually tried to use Konfabulator to run a nuclear plant in the past?

Not necessarily.

A similar disclaimer is included with Windows as well.

I used to use it because I thought it was pretty cool, but after the trial period ran out I just found I never really used it so I uninstalled.

The really wierd thing about this sort of 'ware is that the people who use it are mostly huge nerds who, under other circumstances, constantly bitch about anything using up system resources.

So what's the reason for the little picture frame widget? Does it do anything? or have a purpose?

The reason there isn't a UK one is because we don't have weather.

Yea, just checked it out and it seems kind of pointless. Everything it does can be done already with an extra mouseclick or so.
The novelty of it wore off in about 2 minutes.

Dashboard is lame because you have to press a button to activate it. I like this more because they sit there on your desktop and even under the icons if you want
