Right Wing gestapo censorship of Doonesbury

Papers across the country pulled the strip because of the offensive word:

TURD

Yeah, right.

For the record, "Turd Blossom," is Bush's real nickname for Karl.

It was only about 12 papers, some of which only editted "turd" out. Hardly a conspiracy.

I didn't say it was more than twelve.

I guarantee you that you would find worse words in those papers if you searched.

But would you find worse words in those papers that edited it? I know I'd find worse in my local paper, but they didn't pull the strip.

lots of papers don't put doonesbury in the comics section. they treat it like a political cartoon (fancy that) and put it in the main section.
you're right though, we must protect children from foul language like "turd"!!!1 the fcc should fine that liberal bastard!

If you think doonsbury is for kids, you might be a fucking moron.

Incedentally if you are a fucking moron, you might like doonsbury.

the guardian has doonesbury. i always thought it was some cliquey nonsense with zero humour content. then again i live in the provinces (i.e. about 3000 miles outside the washington beltway)
