Doom 3 mac patch?

A friend of mine wants to install Doom 3 on his new Mac computer. Where can he find the 1.3 patch for Doom 3? I looked on ftp.idsoftware.com but was unable to locate it there. Also, is it possible to somehow install Doom 3 from a PC copy of the game and then apply the Mac patch to it? I know this was possible with Quake 3 because you could simply copy over all the files from the CD and the patch would overwrite the executable.

Any chance of taking the Mac demo and merging it with the real PC D3 data?
