UberNoobLinuxPB question

I recently updated to linuxq3apoint-1.32b-3.x86.run, and am trying to get the punkbuster system on my client updated. Running pbweb.x86 gives me ERROR: Htm-to-Binary Conversion Failed.

I did try running the pbweb.x86 program as root and did not receive this error. But after logging out of root account, logging in to basic account and running q3, I still get forced to spec mode untill my pb updates.

I suspect that I dont have file permissions set properly?

disinteger, could you post a `ls -l` dump of your pb folder? And are you installing PB to /usr/local/games/quake3/pb or to $HOME/.q3a/pb?

I have tried installing to both /usr/local/games/quake3/pb and /home directory's and can only get pb to update if I run it as root. I'll work on the console dump for you.

Btw, did
% echo "quake 0 0 direct" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss
% echo "quake 0 0 disable" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0c/oss

work for your xmms/alsa/quake 3 sound?

Ok, it's working.

Turns out you were right, I didn't run pb from the (hidden) .q3a/pb folder in my /home.
