Maximum FPS didn't go up after upgrade

Post by asd123321 »

Previous upgrades have gone from 50 to 70 to 90 Maximum FPS but this latest showed no change even though the CPU speed was doubled and the video board is 5 times faster. The amateur
maps that have low framerates still may dip to 30 FPS or stop for a second. Try some of these maps that are easily found with a search and see how they work.

well, what do you have your framerate capped at?

Jump into a map and brind down the console...then type /com_maxfps 125

Then see what it goes to.

Or /com_maxfps 0 for that matter.

Also, to do a benchmark in Quake 3, at the menu, bring down the console, type
\timedemo 1
\demo four

Quake'll then whiz through a demo that ships with Quake 3, and then when its finished and you're back at the menu, bring down the console again to see your average FPS for that demo.
