weird lighting problems

Post by Shadowdane »

well been trying to finish up this map and well its being difficult to finally knock it out and get everything looking good. Currently I have two spots in the map that are giving me odd lighting problems.

This is the compile command-line that I am using in q3map2 v2.5.16:
-light -bounce 5 -dirty -fast -gamma 1.2 -nocollapse -patchshadows -samples 4 -samplesize 4 -scale 1.25

Anyone have any ideas why these dark lines are showing up??

Not sure whats causing the dark lines; Would it be possible to remove them with a few carefully placed point light entities though? Also, the lighting in the second shot looks fine.

Nice work btw.

yah the 2nd shot isn't nearly as bad.. but you can still see a blue seem along the ceiling. It was a nice dark black seem until I put two lights up there.

hmmm... I'll try playing around with some point lights I guess.

Wasn't -dirty some compile speedup thingy? If so try to compile without it.
